Unforgettable

Berkshires

Located just 1 hour from Albany and Hartford, 2 hours from Boston, 3 from New York City, and 4 from Montreal and Philadelphia. The landscape here is one of the most inspiring on the planet, with its mix of rolling green and flower-covered fields in the spring and summer, snow-blanketed peaks in the winter, and riot of colorful foliage in the fall.

Why we came

Pick up any article about the Berkshires, and it will most likely tell you about our world-class art scene, from Tanglewood to Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, the Clark Art Institute, and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Or the farm-to-table food movement, with dozens of restaurants helmed by chefs from all over the region and the world, using fresh, healthful foods grown right in our backyards. And then there are the phenomenal outdoor activities, like hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. These are exactly the things that brought us here.

But want to know why we stay?

Because the community is warm and friendly, and it’s easy to get to know people, even if you live clear across the county from one another. The Berkshires are inclusive, with activities and opportunities for people from all backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and budgets. And although it’s full of smart, innovative people and businesses, the Berkshires are about as easygoing as it gets. There’s no rushing around, no jockeying for parking space, no lingering in gridlock traffic. It’s a place where you can just be, and feel good about waking up in every day.

And did we mention that the sunrises are out of this world?
