Our

Philosophy

We believe that buying and selling real estate isn’t just a transaction. It’s a life milestone, whether it’s your first or fifth time. At Jan Perry Realty, we know that the most satisfying home buying or selling experiences, whether in the Berkshires or beyond, come from great relationships. That’s why we focus on listening and getting to know you, your family, your needs, your budget, and your lifestyle.

We’re here to make it easier

Buying a home or commercial property can be confusing, frustrating, and—let’s face it—expensive. We’re here to take the guesswork off the legal process. We also respect your money like it’s our own, and won’t waste your time on properties that aren’t a good match. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to buying or selling a home, so we collaborate with you all along the way and give you honest feedback, so you’ll be ready to make confident, well-informed decisions.

Local Resources

We have an interior design expert on staff. Count on her to go beyond “Put away all your pictures and clear out the furniture” to help you stage your home in a way that’s appealing to buyers. Looking for a second opinion on a paint color or furniture placement in your newly purchased home? She can help you with that, too.
We believe in being active participants in our local community. We teach home-buying courses through local businesses, and hold catch-up sessions with our clients. We’re members of the Berkshire Board of Realtors, and hosted the first Berkshire Housing Summit, to examine real estate issues and opportunities in our region. We donate to and promote businesses right here in our home base of Pittsfield, and all around the county, because we believe that we all do better when we work together.
Need a referral to a contractor, interior designer, landscaper, or even to someone in the business community? We love being a resource for our clients, especially if you’re new to the area. Oh, and we have great taste in music, too. Ask us where to go for the best local concerts, or for suggestions for you next play list.

We live and play here

We don’t drive into the Berkshires for a few hours’ worth of work each week. We live and play here, and know the towns inside and out—including the fair market value for homes in each one. We also know how important homes are to the community. When people like you fall in love with the Berkshires, just like we did, they put down roots, start businesses, send their children to our schools, and use their purchasing power at our local businesses and cultural institutions. This strengthens the economy and the housing market for everyone who lives here.
